November Joint SJ and SF Chapter – Fujifilm Networking Tour

A big thank you to Fujifilm Open Innovation Hub USA and SF Chapter member, Chet Green, for hosting the ASSP San Francisco and Greater San Jose Chapter’s. And thank you to the members that were able to attend our November joint networking tour. We learned that Fujifilm is so much more than a photography company! By leveraging the technologies it originally developed for the photography industry and continuously and proactively pursuing advanced R&D, Fujifilm has created businesses in multiple high-tech fields and become a technology-oriented company. Definitely an eye opening experience.

October “Behind the Scenes” Tour

For our October event we did a behind the scenes tour of the De Young Museum. The tour was hosted and led by Al Barna, Occupational Health & Safety officer. The tour was sold out! We had 25 members attend the tour. Thank you for everyone who was able to make it to the event! See some photos from the tour below:

September Technical Meeting

We kicked off the chapter year at our September meeting, hosted by Cal Service Tool in Hayward, CA. Dr. Lambert spoke to us about Fault Tree/Event Tree Analysis and its use investigating NASA Accidents–Apollo 13, The Challenger Space Shuttle, and the Columbia Space Shuttle. You can find a copy of his presentation and more studies on his website: https://ftaassociates.com/

At our September meeting, we also recognized David Paoletta, past president (2017-2018) of the SF Chapter. Under his leadership, the SF Chapter attained Platinum Level Status. The platinum chapter designation is awarded to chapters that meet rigorous standards of excellence as established by ASSP. They are considered to be strong role models for other chapters to emulate.
