Joint Summer Mixer

Posted: Aug 22, 2019

The SF Construction Section, SF Chapter & Greater SJ Chapter’s jointly hosted a summer mixer/networking event for our members this week on Tuesday. We had around 20 safety professionals show up to the event. It was a great way to celebrate the summer and network over pizza, beer and good company. Here are some photos from the event. We are planning to do more events like this. Please check out our calendar for upcoming events!

Welcome Message from SF Chapter President, Amanda Shin

Posted: Jul 29, 2019

Dear SF Chapter ASSP Members,

The 2019/2020 Chapter Year has begun and I am honored to continue to serve as the SF Chapter President for one more year. I would like to thank you all for the opportunity to lead the chapter again, it has truly been a privilege and I am looking forward to this new chapter year. The experience I’ve had as a volunteer on the SF Chapter board for the past 6 years has been tremendously rewarding as I’ve had the opportunity to work with some amazing and dedicated folks who share the same passion for safety.

We will be taking a break in the months of July and August so that the newly appointed board can plan some fun events for the incoming chapter year.  We will have our first chapter meeting in September where we will be swearing in our new officers. More information to come regarding our September meeting.

We have already started planning the 2020 Bay Area Safety Symposium and we are looking for speakers! The Annual Symposium provides one of the most sought after events for attendees to learn the profession’s best practices focusing on Safety, Health, Industrial Hygiene & Environmental Issues. The Symposium is attended by over 400+ attendees annually and features an Exhibition of over 40+ Sponsors and Exhibitors.  The event features a keynote speaker and 16 breakout sessions with four concurrent tracks running throughout the day. You do not need to be an ASSP member to attend.  If you are interested in speaking at the symposium, please fill out an application and email us your proposal. – .

Our volunteer leadership is always looking for members that want to be engaged at an increased level with the Chapter. We have several committees that we could use help with. I understand that each one of us is busy, but I encourage you to get involved with the Chapter. I guarantee that you will benefit from the networking and alliances created from increased engagement with your Chapter! Together, we can and will improve the safety profession. Thank you for your continued investment in ASSP!

I look forward to seeing you all soon!
