As a valuable member of the Water Resources Department, the Safety and Emergency Response Manager is responsible for the management, administration, and coordination of the District’s health, safety, and emergency management programs to assure an effective and coordinated response to emergency events and to protect the District from exposure to hazardous or unsafe conditions. This position reports to the Water Resources Director and is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, implementing, coordinating, and administering the District’s health, safety, and emergency management programs which include safety training, all related investigations, assuring compliance with applicable state and federal health and safety regulations, promoting emergency preparedness, and preparing for emergency response recovery and mitigation.
